Wayne Darryl Lott was born June 3, 1967 in Charleston, SC to Patricia B. Lott and the late Charles H. Lott. He entered eternal rest on July 27, 2021 in Columbia, SC.

Wayne began his education at Prince of Peace Catholic School in Niagara Falls, NY. After moving to Orangeburg, SC he attended Mellichamp Elementary School and then Felton Laboratory School where he developed lifelong friendships. Wayne graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in 1985 and entered the illustrious South Carolina State University. He graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Art degree in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics.

Wayne started work at Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) as a chemist in the years following college, then moved to working as a chef in the food industry due to his love for cooking.

Wayne met the love of his life, Tanya Renee Simmons in 1996 and they were married March 3. 2001. From this two children were born, Halee Renee, 19, and Blayne Christopher, 16. Family was the core of Wayne's existence. He attended all soccer games, special events, and graduations. He was also the master chef of the house and family functions. Wayne attended Potters Christian Life Center Church in Columbia under the Christian leadership of  Pastor Greg Formey.

Wayne was the Columbia Alumni chapter president from 1999-2003 and was influential in the first annual Scholarship Gala. He was affectionally known for attending Bulldog football games and cooking fish during the tailgate. Wayne was a die hard San Francisco 49ers fan and passed that love to his son.

Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Lott; grandparents, Henry & Evelyn Brown and uncle, Kenneth Brown.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Tanya Simmons-Lott from of Irmo, SC for 20 years; one daughter, Halee Renee and one son Blayne Christopher both of Irmo, SC; his mother, Patricia B. Lott of Orangeburg; a sister, Valerie Lott of Raleigh, NC; an uncle, Keith Brown of Alexandria, Virginia; a step brother and sister, Charles Lott of Rock Hill and Angela Lott of Charleston; a cousin, Kenna Thomas of Columbia, SC; mother- in- law, Gerletha  Simmons and a brother- in- law,  Kendall Simmons both of Summerville, SCa as well as a host of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to SC State University Foundation in memory of Wayne D. Lott, '90 , to establish the Wayne D. Lott Memorial Scholarship.
