William "Sykes" James Tripp Jr was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 4, 1954 to Willie Tripp and Eileen

Whittington. He went to Germantown High School and graduated in 1972.

Along with his father, he worked in his shop doing body work and detailing cars. He also continued in this field

working at Sloane Toyota in Glenside and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania continuing on at Faulkner Dealership.

"Sykes" enjoyed socializing, shooting pool, playing shuffleboard and playing cards. He loved laughing and joking with everyone no matter who they

were. "Sykes" was known for his loud deep voice and heavy tone.

In 1995 he met the "love of his life," Dorothy (Sissy) Jamison to whom they formed a union of marriage in his

favorite town of Las Vegas, Nevada on September 26, 2005 .

"Sykes" and Sissy decided to move to Columbia, South Carolina in March of 2012 to live a slower pace lifestyle.

His health started failing in 2015, where he fought a long battle of illnesses over several years.

He was a strong-willed person and fought this battle until the Lord gave him his wings and called him home.

Preceding William in death is a sister, Barbara Waters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories two daughters, Chanel L. Jackson and Cydria Tripp; three sons, Byron Thomas, William Tripp and

Antuan Tripp; five siblings,  Margie Love, Shirley Wing, Patricia Tripp; a brother, Earl Tripp and Jacqueline Tripp-Ward, a special friend, Wadiyah

Blackman who was like a sister to him, along with grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
