Funeral services for the late Mr. Willie Hayes will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Peter Baptist Church, Williston, South Carolina. Interment services will follow immediately in the church cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Tuesday between the hours of 12:00 noon- 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Willie James Hayes was born on December 24, 1947 in Barnwell County, South Carolina to Edna Hayes. Willie departed his life on August 21, 2013 at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, South Carolina. Early in life, Willie joined St. Peter Baptist Church in Elko, South Carolina. He received his education in Williston's School District and graduated in 1967 from Williston- Elko High School. He was a former employee of Hubbell located in Aiken, South Carolina. Willie was a faithful member of the New Gospel Tones. Willie is preceded in death by one brother, Lewis Hayes. Cherishing Willie's precious memories are: his wife, Mrs. Shirley Hayes; sons, Willie James Hayes, Jr. of Elko, South Carolina, Garry Hayes of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Ricky Hayes of Sally, South Carolina, and Robert Hayes of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one daughter, Betty Staley of Columbia, South Carolina; ten grandchildren, Alicia Staley, Monique Staley, Shayla Hayes, Kayla Hayes, Jasmine Hayes, Ricky Dean, Zorria Hayes, Shayla Hayes, Mikenna Hayes and Aiyaunna Hayes; five brothers-in-law, Al (Kathy) Washington, Ed (Essie) Smalls, Terry Smalls all of Blackville, South Carolina and Carlyle Smalls of Miami, Florida; a brother-in-law, Robert Smalls; sisters-in-law, Jackie Smalls and Janice Smalls both of Columbia, South Carolina, Mattie James of Miami, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
