Funeral services for the late Mr. Willie James Washington will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. Interment services will follow immediately at Blackville Cemetery, Blackville, SC. Viewing for the public will be held on Saturday from 1:00- 7:00 pm at the funeral home. On Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Medical College of Georgia, God saw within his will to call Trustee Willie J. Washington home after an extended illness. Willie (Lowe as he was affectionately called) was born September 16, 1955 to Mrs. Annie Lee Washington and was one of ten children. Early in life, he joined Macedonia Baptist Church where he served on the trustee board, the male chorus, and the E.I. Washington Inspirational Choir. "Lowe" was a graduate of Blackville- Hilda High School Class of 1973 and Midlands Technical College with an associate's degree in business administration. The memory of him will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those that knew and loved him. Preceding Willie in death are three brothers, Rison, Kenneth and Glenn and one sister, Betty. Willie leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Shaneka Hart of Bishopville, SC; three grandchildren; his mother, Annie L. Washington of the home; one sister, Pauline (Elbert) Williams of Asheville, NC; six brothers, Frank (Mary) Washington of Blackville, SC, Elder Clyde (Cynthia) Washington of Asheville, NC, Isaac (Dororthy) Washington of Augusta, GA, Jerry (Shirley) Washington of Philadelphia, PA, Lionel (Tonya) Holmes of Denmark, SC and James (Carolyn) Walker of Asheville, NC; a devoted friend, Louvenia Reed; two special friends and classmates, Lydia Grayson and Sammie Lee Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
