Funeral Information: Time: 11:00 a.m. Place: North Orangeburg United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC Date: Thursday, July 26, 2012 Burial Location: Belleville Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg, SC Officiating Minister: Rev. Eddie C. Williams Mrs. Johnson will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Willie Lee Johnson was born on July 8, 1931 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Willie B. and Annie C. Whetstone. On Saturday July 21st 2012 she departed this earth for her heavenly home. At a early age while attending Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She served as a member of the Women's Missionary, United Methodist Women, Senior Choir and as a Communion Steward. She was an active member until her declining health prevented her from attending regular service. She was educated in Orangeburg County Public School, attended Zion High School and graduated from Wilkinson High School. She attended Orangeburg Calhoun Vocational Education Center studying to be a nurse. She worked as a private duty nurse for many years until her health no longer permitted. Willie Lee was united to Elijah Eugene September 10, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1991. Willie Lee was also preceded in death by a son Elijah "Gene"; three sisters, Lucille Henderson, Janet Oliver and Willa Mae Holman; three brothers, George Sr., Jasper Whetstone Sr., and Matthew Carmichael; three brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws. Willie Lee shared a special friendship with many at the Pace Adult Center. She is survived by her loving sons, Herbert Clyde (Loretta Ann) Johnson and Gehry W. Johnson both of Orangeburg, S.C.; three daughters, Sharon L. (Willie) Ellison and Selma R. Johnson both of Orangeburg, S.C., Willa A. Johnson of Woodbridge, VA; six brothers and sisters; Andrew, Booker T. (Loretta) Whetstone and Thelma Glover all of Orangeburg, S.C.; Amelia Gibson, Jane (Benjamin) Jenkins, Leroy (Ethel) Whetstone all of Trenton, N.J.; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Johnson of Orangeburg, S.C. and Mary Whetstone of Lawrenceville, N.J; ten adorable grandchildren; six precious great- grand children; two honorary grandchildren, De Ante & De Shawn Parker of Orangeburg, S.C and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family. Viewing for the public will be held on Wednesday between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home
