Willis Williams was born on July 7, 1940, to the late Johnny "Bang" Williams Sr. and Annie Lee Reed Williams. The Lord called him from labor to reward on August 3, 2022, at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was known to many by the name of "Bobby Joe" but his immediate family named him "PZ". At an early age, he joined Sunshine Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina where he served faithfully until his health declined. He was a member of the Men's choir and Trustee Board and enjoyed singing for the Lord. Willis was educated in Bamberg County public schools. He was employed at Bamberg Memorial Hospital, Sunbeam Corporation, and Ducane until retiring. Bobby Joe was a "Jack of all trades; master of none", especially with cars and cooking. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by one son: Larry Washington; five sisters: Mildred Williams, Louise Bodiford, Agnes Tyler Donaldson, Mary Green, and Ruth Morrell; one brother, Willie Williams. He was married to the former Ethel Louise Williams.He leaves to cherish fond memories five sons: Alden (Cathy) Washington, Dale (Ann) Williams, Ronald (Michelle) Williams, Scott (Dionne) Williams, and Terrence (Regina) Williams; three daughters: Sabrina (Reginald) Davis, Michelle (Timothy) Stroman,and Tracy (oseph) Brown; one brother: Johnny (Patricia) Williams Jr.; a special niece: Cynthia Tyler; a special nephew: Ernest "Clayton" Tyler, a caregiver: Vernice Johnson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
