Willow Mae Hammond was born in Barnwell, South Carolina on August 1, 1940 to the late Deacon James Hammond and Eunice Ray Hammond.

She attended Kelly Edwards School and joined St. Peter Baptist Church at an early age.

During her life she worked 30 years at Jellif Corp. There she worked as a power press operator, while training new hires in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

She is preceded in death by Eartha O'Neal, Eunice William, Eddie Hammond, James Hammond, Sr., Matthew Hammond; one son, Andy Carter and one grandson, Bryan Walker.

Willow is survived by her children, George Carter, Bertha Carter, John (Debra) Carter, Charles (Theresa) Carter, Helen Carter, Martina Carter. She is also survived by Nell (Clay) Johnson, Eartha Fergerson, David Hammond, Leroy (Betty) Hammond and Johnny (Sandra) Hammond; seventeen  grand children; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
